I have a question about the public market...

is it possible to trade or FA in such a way to affect other desired countrys significantly? I know there are buyouts to play with the market...

What I attempted to do for fluffs and giggles was sell all my military and bushles... had 3bil on hand and decided to see how much money I could dump on the Public Market if I didnt care about my cash... then i just resold the bushles on the private market, rebought from the public market... and just kept on doing that over and over again.

I ended up putting 25bil+ on the market and pushed the bushel price up to 55 per from 36.

Just expressing some random thoughts.

Would love to hear what others think, I think next reset ill see how many bushles i can buy with more cash if I am still alive near the end of the set.

I did that on express once and got quite a lot out of it. Was interesting messing with the small market there.

but now that it is, ya i think a single person can move bushels and oil - a demo with cash- in team express and primary. don't forget about orders to drive it up. i pushed oil up in primary from below 100 to 250. made some bank. Flipping oil when it gets in the 250 range you have to remember you can buy over 6x as many bushels so a $5 flip in busheles when it is in the 40 range to 45 is more profitable then buying oil at say 225 and reselling at 250, even though you are making a $25 filp.

Somewhere in a pair top secret underground complex's, several LaF and EVO heads are about to become apoplectic about something besides each other for the first time in a long time . . .

This sounds like a viable netting strategy! Lets just call it reselling, mixed with a market buyout. Best new idea to this game in 15 years. Oh wait.... Nvm

Heres an idea, put max of whatever unit your trying to inflate. Sell very high. Estimate market depth, keep enough cash on hand to do a buy out *2. When your stuff enters the market, buy up to your price immediatley selling max. Keep the market bought out for several hours. Its even better when a large alliance is war prepping, or during a cs buyup. It also helps to join #earthempires and tell everyone youll be doing a buyout to a higher price then you intend to buyout to, that way evo doesnt block you. Did I say evo? I meant to say any jackazz. ;)

You can do this as much as you want. It has been done any number of times going back years and years.

You are basically inefficiently aiding a country in a way that is more difficult to track.

The more efficient way is to just flat out FA them every day the last week or two before they jump.

You get into a game where people will end up putting up blocks in order to try and profit off of your buyout.

This type of thing was just more relevant in E2025 with the 2B limit on cash.
