Xinhuan: mostly hardware. The h/w of Android phones has matched/surpassed the iPhone, IMHO. But on tablets, it just hasn't. The iPad2 has great hardware (excluding use cases requiring ruggedness). Add to that the simplicity of use, plenty of memory, App store interface, synching with all your other Apple stuff, etc. and I just think its better. The configuration settings are easy to use and pretty straightforward.
All of the Android tablets I have seen so far have bulkier hardware (thickness, weight) and less refined UI's. It takes quite a lot of configuration on one to compete with the iPad2, IHMO. The Amazon app store is an improvement over the Android Market, but still not as good as Apple's App Store.
Android is more "hackable", but I'm not talking about rooted or jailbroken cases here, more consumer use. While Android has a lot of apps now, it still doesn't completely match iOS with many developers releasing for iOS before Android (both apps and updates).
But more, when it comes to tablets, there are more apps designed natively for the iPad form factor than there are Android apps designed for an Android tablet form factor. This is, in part, because of the lack of a common standard on Android tablets (smartphones from 2.5" - 5.5", tablets at 7", 8", 9", 10" and 10.5"). The "tablet" apps on Android just aren't as "caught up" as the smartphone apps on Android, yet.
I think Android tablets will overtake the iPad in 2012 in several respects, especially with the ICS release of Android. But, we also have yet to see what Apple has up their sleeve for iPad3.
