Seems a bit of an overkill on players who are just playing the game. Pretty sure some of the stuff you are doing is more of a power trip reaction, rather then a punishment for cheating/botting which is traditionally what real bans were made for. If you are getting some flak, man up and take it, and at times perhaps listen. Don't just delete naysayers. Been playing the game longer then you have, and this is the first time Ive seen bans like this being handed out for non botters.

If you are concerned with policy then you should contact a moderator in private. That's been policy for the past 15 years.

Half the dudes I play with have got a 10 year ban, I do not believe an in private conversation at this point will be enough. We are a part of a community, and it is already decreasing :/

You fundamentally misunderstand the scope and purpose of bans. Do you think that we shouldn't ban for racial slurs in country names? What about ingame messages that contain links to child sexual abuse material? What about forum posts that contain your name, address, phone number?

So the multitude of people you just banned shared child sexual abuse material? They would deserve worse then banning. Thank you for taking care of the trash. Out of everything you stated, the only things that would deserve the 10 year bans would be racial slurs, and the supposed links. Forum posts containing information should be deleted, and maybe a very short term ban.

Im pretty sure my initial post is fairly accurate in terms of the scope of what has to be dealt with, and your first reaction is I know nothing, and am making a fuss. Just not impressed as a whole, and it isnt just over the last couple days.

Deleting the posts containing personal information is not a solution when the offender can just post the same information over and over again. I do appreciate you admitting that your initial post was incorrect: players deserve bans for offenses other than running multies. That is not a new policy. No one on the Alliance server has been banned for "just playing the game". You making up your own set of facts and attempting some kind of public inquistion is not going help anyone.

Players have done a lot of messed up stuff over the past 15 years, including committing various criminal offenses. You can assume that what you asked about has not happened if it's helpful for you to do so.

As a long time player of the game, Kill4Free is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the unpaid volunteer work done by the moderators to keep the game clean. Yet he feels entitled to harass, insult, and disrespect those same moderators.

Sadly I think he's already among the right crowd. The big political issue that Mercs and SOL picked is that they want to harass, insult, and disrespect the moderators without consequences. They are destroying their alliances over it. I don't really care if they destroy their alliances but I wish they would leave me and the other mods out of it.

It is my belief that this archetype of player is the main reason that the game is going to crap. I just can't figure out if it's malice or incompetence.

I'm led to beleive one should always assume the latter, so my advice would be to think about what you can do to improve. Perhaps you could start by asking yourself the question:

What exactly is it that you are hoping to achieve with your post?

It’s all over the internet these trolls who think it’s funny to be cruel to their fellow man. I think they got bullied too much growing up and grew to hate their fellow man and somewhere along the line turned evil. Seems to be a society wide issue. The same types think it’s funny to use freedom of speech to torture people.
