Seems this set tech is gonna be even crazier than last. I got 500million im hoarding as its too expensive for me. I get the bare minimum. Definitely sure we will see some real big finishes with the techers especially if food stays low. What a set to be a alive and teching....

My math isn't that great. But one set we had similar tech was CRAZY all set. And unlike this set we were over saturated with commies. below 100 military quick and a lot of the set. And the top two finishes were still commies. Very strong strategy overall for any noobs reading this. I talked to tmac about it and he even gave me ways to work it out. When and what prices (especially we are talking about non strategy specific techs). Would be worth buying and when....considering your income amounts cost of the tech etc. I more or less just copied him that set tech wise and finished with way less tech than usual. But still finished 2nd place behind him. That math is all over my head. I remember the last set I techd i spied who end game i would learn was gerdler and to me his tech looked very low, with so much cash on hand...maybe partly as I was a techer selling tech for peanuts unfortunately. lmao but no i thought he needs more tech with all that cash sitting there. Looked low. I told him he needs more tech. He was like OK thanks. Obviously he didn't and dude ended up smashing like 175m finish or something insane. Math.... ha.

i havent even peeked at tech market cuz i made 600k points between my turns and ally bonus so hopefully by the time that i have to recharge the tech % prices are lower.

i have $500m burning a hole in my pocket and buy orders at $170-$175 for jets and turrets.

I grabbed a million barrel at 99 between last night, and this morning. Currently stacked on turns and not doing much! Seems there are 4 commies doing the bulk of production and likely not too many more joining that production.

I saw the state of the market early and decided i had better make enougj rigs to self sustain.

I am only playing once a day on vacation as well so fewer market sends of jets and turrets. Get em while they’re hot!

Just buy the tech anyways, if you’ve got nothing to spend the money on buy the tech

Military costs tech will lower your PM cost of jets and oil and allow you to stop buying from the large commies whom you are competing against

I just try to keep my tech levels above certain % thresholds throughout the round if I can .. before Gerdler and Tmac there was a guy Serpenator who used to dominate and he kept his tech levels solid all round

Tech was a lot cheaper back in those days.. ;) lol. Tmac ran a pretty crazy techer and he was having to sell he said sub 2k and still broke 100m. That is like 4 or 5 years ago. Fack. We need to get this player count to 100+ again.

Everytime I play a Commie Indy I go back through the scores history and look up his old countries and try to emulate them, and its won me two rounds now

Most every commie that wins has the same things in common. Lots of land. Obviously you will need some tech to, but awesome grabs are usually the key reason they win. My only W was simply on fluke. single taps only. And it just so happened that set that SERP had a couple people he was not so lucky to get out of range from after farming them.

I am wondering how comparable going back 15 years to now is etc. Have the players gotten better? Have the dynamics changed, and things are not totally comparable. A bit of both, perhaps. Def you would suspect it has gotten harder to have big finishes ??? yet we have seen the craziest of them in recent years.

Cumorah said that is where he got his tech start, from serp. RIP country cumorah. haha. I think I am either going his way, or into techer only retirement.

LB is like tmac these days in most likley to get a W it seems.

Well the changes that were implemented where a small farmed guy can retal with spy’s and missiles makes breaking gdi harder.

Good thing I never break gdi here anyways unless I want to war of course

I think they can still only Retal with spy attacks unless they are in the normal humanitarian range

LB - I’d copy your countries like I do Serp’s but I can’t see them the same way in the scores history after the end of the round

A few successful Bio terrorisms ops every day can put a good dent in your final final finish so not worth breaking gdi in my opinion

You simply gotta choose who you’re willing to break gdi against a tad more carefully than before

Also going heavy on spies and getting some spy tech is a good idea as well

Haha, I didn’t know that. I’m just kidding anyway, his countries are incredibly identical to mine. With the exception of my biggest win where I was non-gdi, I had a mountain of SDI more spies then usual, and played differently (I was sabotaging every non-gdi countries missiles, even if I wasn’t hitting them, and didn’t bother with jumping out of range). Pretty sure in the talk that set someone even posted their annoyance at someone sabotaging their missiles but didn’t know who it was lol.

Getting 50k land and a win over 100m with only single taps is definitely skill, not luck.
