Or an army general. I posted this to Omega's membership almost 6 years ago on April 20, 2006 just as we entered a huge server war. How could you not be motivated to rise to the occasion?

"Server War - Our Part

Reset after reset, IX and SOL get into meaningless wars. The only purpose of these wars is to prove dominance and satisfy their own superiority complex. If it so happens that IX or SOL meet a force that is on par with them, they call in allies and overwhelm any opposition.

Last reset, several friends of ours over in SoF began plans. Plans for showing IX and SOL how allies are meant to work together, as friends, willing to help each other and not as tools, afraid to disobey. They had formulated a plan that involved overwhelming numbers on our side to attack and cripple IX and SOL.

Somehow, the leadership of IX and SOL suspected this plan, and immediately started pulling strings. Using their allies as intimidation, IX and SOL had several alliances drop all diplomatic relations with Omega and her allies.

IX and SOL for countless months and years have used their allies as tools to maintain superiority. This reset will be different. This reset must be different. IX and SOL are bullies. They are the schoolyard bullies picking on the defenceless children. It is time that these children, together, fight against them.

The plan was for half of our forces to FS IX tomorrow night at 8pm. The other half was to FS SOL tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. This FS presented a threat to our enemy, who decided to pre-empt our FS.

Tonight, at 8:30 game time, lluminati X alongside Sky Infidelz, The Syndicate, and The Infernal Elite struck targets from our friend and ally, Elysium. Shortly after, forces from the Sons of Liberty and Evolution struck our friends and allies at RAGE. What makes this very interesting is that every Rage target so far has been a WoGer. Many of us still have friends in WoG, or memories of WoG's stay in Omega. This makes it even more personal.

Calculations put the IX/Sky/TIE/SOL side at 905 countries and our side at 932 countries. This war is massive, it is HUGE. It will involve over 20 alliances and 1800 countries. This war will be remembered throughout earth like the TIL wars have been remembered, and World War X.

We in Omega must do our part to not be on the losing side of this war. I don't think IX and SOLs ego can be safely inflated anymore, but if their side wins this war, that's exactly what will happen, and we can NOT have that.

We need ALL members hitting. We need ALL members joining warchats. We need ALL members restarting immediately after having been killed. Dedication, determination, and a need to succeed are what will drive Omega and her allies to a victory.

Haha. Oh man. Any of you guys get these nostalgic moments and go back to read the fluff you posted years ago? I was barely 18 when I wrote all this stuff.

Here was my post-FS analysis:

It's been one week since the FS by IX/SOL and friends. There have been several developments recently, specifically the intervention of LaF. Our sides are now almost equal, with 1,017 countries on their side, and 1,013 countries on ours.

This war is very young, and started very early. We still have another 5 weeks of fighting left, but we MUST work together as Omegans, and together with our allies as friends to catch up to and eventually exceed the advantage of their first strike.

A few stats. First with war stats:
Their side has 53,000 hits, while ours has 43,000. This is attributed to the late entry of several of our allies, and this gap will shrink quite rapidly.

Their side has 231 kills, while ours only has 171. This figure is skewed due to the day of AB runs, which left many of their breakers crippled. I expect that in the next few days our kills and hits per day will be far above theirs.

Omega is still near the top in hits per member with 63. The only alliance above us is Imagnum, with 70. Are you guys going to let Imagnum beat US in hits per member? I sure as hell am not. Get into warchats! If you have 5 turns, SPEND THOSE 5 TURNS. What if you die later during the day? That's 5 turns wasted. 5 turns that could have been used to damage the enemy, that haven't been used. Never assume that you will be alive for the next wave. If you are in the chat during a wave and have ONE TURN. Use it.

It should be noted that SoF's tag DOES have more hits per member, but that's because EarthGraphs counts SoF's members as the roughly 110 they had before MD tagged up, but counts the hits of all 200 countries, so their stats are slightly bloated.

In comparison to the other side, Omega is behind only Sky and TIE; two very capable warring alliances who as of yet have not been hit, and don't need to stonewall. Omega is ABOVE both IX (the best warmongers in the game) and SOL (the best alliance ever to grace this game) in hits per member and restart rates.

SOL's Archives read as follows:

This set we struck Rage as they dropped us from a DP when SoF refused to pact us. Rage would not pact us unless we pacted SoF. We offered them a pact, and SoF refused.

Thus we started making war plans, since it was evident someone wanted to hit SoL. We had a great number unpacted to ensure we could help our allies in case they also got hit. SoL struck an online Rage while IX struck Elysium alongside TIE and Sky. MD jumped tags to SoF to avoid getting hit by IX/TIE since they were FDPed to SoF. This failed, as IX and TIE hit the tagjumpers as our police.

A total of 14 alliances hit SoL this reset, and we overcame the odds to help our side win. We also had the most attacks made and the most attacks taken in the whole war. Well done SoL.

In hindsight we probably would've done better if SoF had just pacted you and then broken it. You guys knew something was up as soon as so many alliances dropped their DPs before the set.

Yeah. SOL/IX won. We had assumed that about half a dozen of the smaller (at that time, 40-60 member) alliances were on our side. Joke was on us when they started hitting us. IX/SOL had a huge experience and strategy advantage given they were both war alliances with skilled war chat leaders etc. We thought we had the numbers. By our calculations they should have been about 1200-800 in our favour. When they turned out being almost exactly even, their experience and organization won out. Also their FS, which wasn't as successful as it could've been since RAGE were practically all online waiting for it.

Well, sometimes you gotta play dirty if you want to stop a bully. At the time if you weren't in IX or SOL you hated IX or SOL. They pretty much controlled the game. LG policies, wars etc. You had to play by their rules or be destroyed. Besides - as long as you're on the winning side it doesn't matter what tactics you used to get there, since now you're in control.

I remember when IX and SOL were warring all the time. Then they became friends. I'm surprised, I still see all these great alliances with lesser numbers obviously but, they still exists. I was sure id see IX when I returned.

Yeah. Won't lie there's a bit of pride in my that Omega is still kicking around while some of those others are gone. IX, Sky, Elysium were no small names.

by the end of the war imag still had the most hits per member for the entire war. Again this was when I was President of imag.

Therefor the only conclusion we can come to, is that I am simply awesome.

I remember that i was part of the game when we and IX were enemies and were fighting set after set.

Somehow, in 2 or 3 resets IX and Sol become best friends and started controlling stuff around. Short time after i have left the game ... ( can`t really remember exact date ).

P.S: Iscode is not awesome - is just an illusion!!!

Probably a combination of realizing that they have a common enemy - the rest of the server, and that together they could have more power than either could on its own.

I think the main thing was for some silly reason we let 'Stewy' (Angelous?) join our leadership team for a bit.

@ current rate there will be less than 520 countries on all the server - soon.

I was an IX Head at the time. Was a fun war.

I think SOL jumping sides to join IX and TIE was a smart move as it portrayed SOL in a more adventurous light. Also SOL's old allies were not reliable and left SOL out to dry on too many occasions.

That was the reset that Evolution decided to end its isolationist stance to the rest of the server. The fact that Rage (who was much larger and warprepped) conducted a 10k FS against Evo and Sanctuary (who were both netting, IIRC) out of the blue the reset before greatly influenced Evo's decision to join the IX/SOL bloc.

Wow Nuke... there are a lot of ooooooold names on that chart. I don't know what to compare reading that too... I guess it would be sort of like stumbling across my grade 5 yearbook. Learning a lot of stuff too.. Clowns spun off from SOL and then merged with LaF?

I found stones on the list lol. I wonder if anyone still plays from stones?

Nuke i have always said imag's start point is too low on that list :P
