If I didn't know any better, I'd consider it a testament to Sweden having come a long way to rid itself from racism when organisations for anti-racism and immigrants can't find any better things to react to than something like this. Sadly there's still a lot of prejudice though, perhaps these organisations should focus on issues that are actually real problems instead of jumping unto something like this? I thought the art/jape/thingy was pretty funny, and that this in conjuncture with how bizarre it was worked very well in putting light on the issue of genital mutilation.

If anyone is supposed to be blamed for racism in this affair, it would be these organizations whining about it. Would Lena still be racist is the cake (and the artist) was white? What if Lena was black? They are themselves so focused on skin color that they missed the whole point of the exhibition all together...

As a Swede, all I can say is that I'm disgusted that this has made the news even locally in Sweden, much less the world.

There is a lot of very real racism in Sweden, against and between basically all ethnic groups. This cake only highlights why we fail so utterly to talk about the real racial problems. As soon as anyone tries to point to any actual problem anywhere instead of just screaming at the top of their lungs that whites discriminate non-whites, the debate turns into fluff like this.

Ya, we need to get rid of some of our political correctness...
